Unfortunately, none of us has a fairy godmother to wave her wand and turn us each into Cinderella the day of our wedding. Wedding beauty requires more than just your day-of hair and makeup routine.

So…what should you do to prepare for your wedding? When should you do it? And, where should you have it done?

What :: Bridal Beauty

Nails
Begin getting professional manicures and pedicures. This will help you maintain a uniform length, have healthy cuticles and prevent tears and snags as you approach your wedding day. Besides, you’ll be showing off your engagement ring!
Hair
Work with a stylist on a wedding plan. Come up with a hair routine that will ensure your desired length. Go no longer than 8 weeks between trims to maintain healthy ends.
Skin
Consult with an esthetician about any problem areas. Begin getting regular facials to minimize pores, reduce puffiness and moisturize for a healthy glow.
Wax
Don’t wait until just before your wedding to get your first wax.
Consult with your esthetician if you want a change in your eyebrow shape as a gradual shape change may take a few waxes. Have your eyebrows waxed routinely leading up to your wedding day.
The more often you wax, the better your results will be. Begin regular bikini and underarm waxes about 6 months before the wedding.

When :: Bridal Beauty Routine

Beauty routine timelines vary greatly depending on who you ask and what your needs are. Here’s a general timeline that you can alter according to your personal needs.

Bridal Beauty Routine

Nails :: every 3 weeks
Waxing :: every 6 weeks
Facial :: every 6 weeks

Where :: Embellish Nails & Boutique

Let’s face it. No one wants to drive all over town, from appointment to appointment, getting each service done.

Austin Bridal Shower Nails

Austin brides are lucky to have Embellish Nails & Boutique. Embellish opened their first location March 2008 in the Triangle. It’s really the perfect place to accommodate your bridal beauty routine. Embellish is convenient, affordable, sanitary and hygienic. But, it’s also pampering, fun and totally girly. And, their services include nails, skin and waxing. You can get it all done in one place without compromising on quality.

Both locations (the Westlake location opened this February) are adorably appointed with chandeliers, pink walls, cushy furniture and chick-flick playing televisions.

As you get your nails done, you’ll enjoy a warm neck wrap, a large soaking tub, m&ms and a beverage. The nail technicians are highly qualified and take pride in giving you a lasting (and pretty) mani/pedi.

Before or after your nails, you can also enjoy the skin services. Unlike most nail salons, Embellish employs licensed estheticians that focus only on waxing and facial services using Eminence Organics skincare products. This isn’t the typical scene where the nail-tech pulls you behind a make-shift curtain in the back.

Bridal Parties

Bridal Beauty Routine

In addition to the amazing services offered at Embellish, it’s the perfect location for a pre-wedding bridal party. Head there with your bridesmaids and female relatives a day or two before your wedding. Embellish is also a great venue for bridal showers, luncheons or even a great first-stop for a bachelorette party. For more information on organizing a party of 5 or more, visit the Parties page on the Embellish website.

Special Offer

This summer, guests receiving a Signature Facial can also get a free regular bikini wax during the same appointment. Just mention Weddings Unveiled when you make your appointment and they’ll be sure to hook you up!
