When they moved to San Francisco almost five years ago, Brad and April fell in love with the Bay Area. One of their favorite pastimes became making regular trips to local farmers markets.
So when the native Texans began planning their wedding, they wanted to bring together their two favorite cities – San Francisco and Austin – for their friends and family to enjoy.
Almost six years to the day after their first date, Brad and April were married during a farmers market-themed wedding at Mercury Hall. The theme was unmistakable, from the citrus-colored dresses and cowboy boots the bridesmaids wore to the bales of hay and baskets of fruit that decorated the grounds.
Instead of a traditional cake, April and Brad wanted an equally unique treat for their guests. Objects of Confection came up with a cake ball display that was, April says, “the talk of the party.”

The focus of the display was a citrus tree stand decked with real lemon leaf and dotted with three tiers of orange and lemon cake balls. More fruit surrounded the base of the tree on crisp green leaves.

Orange and lemon cake balls were dipped in colored white chocolate and adorned with hand-painted edible leaves and vines.

Italian crème and German chocolate cake balls enrobed in semisweet chocolate and drizzled with coordinating shades of white chocolate rounded out the menu.

Surrounding the tree, more cake balls were stored in crates with vintage labels customized with the bride and groom’s names and other personalized details.
Says April: “It was perfect and beyond our expectations … Thank you!!”

I love this! My favorite part is the way the labels were customized for the couple… so creative!
