When you hire a wedding photographer, you’ll most likely have a conversation about your ‘must have’ shots. You’ll ask your photographer for a number of posed photos…your family, his family, your families together, your bridal party. You’ll ask your photographer to photograph all of the details…your bouquet, the centerpieces, the cake, the guestbook. You’ll ask your photographer to catch all of the ‘events’…the garter toss, the bouquet toss, the cake cutting, the first dance. You’ll maybe even ask your photographer for a number of specific shots…a night photo, table shots, a getting ready shot.
But, it’s the shots you can’t possibly request or pose for that will most likely be your favorites. The shots of all of the intimate little moments that happen on your special day. The moment you had with your grandma as you were getting ready. The moment you had with your dad before he walked you down the aisle. The hundreds of moments between you and your new husband. You can’t plan those. It takes a very thoughtful photographer to capture all of those moments.
I’ve seen and been blown away by shots taken by Melanie from She-N-He Photography for a few months now. And, it wasn’t until this wedding that I could pinpoint what it is that makes Melanie’s photos so special. It’s true she has an eye. And, it’s true that she’s a super skilled photographer who uses lighting really well and sets up great shots. But, it’s the intimate moments she captures that really makes her photos so remarkable. You can tell she gets to know the couple she’s photographing, that she listens and watches.
Katrina and Andrew were married on April 7 at the Gardens of Cranesbury View. Melanie from She-N-He Photography photographed their wedding.

Katrina was a gorgeous bride. The serious shot is such a classic, but the laughing one really captures her spirit!

Details. Katrina & Andrew collected the wine bottles they used for their centerpieces from a neighborhood restaurant. They had a friend make their wedding cake. Amy Collins, the owner of the venue, was the florist.

A special moment getting ready. And, a very creative boutonniere.

The happy couple.

Beautiful shots of the couple. As you can see, Melanie captured some incredible moments between the couple.
Katrina and Andrew’s wedding was held a few weeks back at The Gardens of Cranesbury View. Wow, stunning location. It’s a blank slate with a Tuscan sensibility, immaculate, perfect.
From Melanie:
Katrina and Andrew. I just love you guys, look at those smiles. So perfectly matched. Enjoy your beautiful life together. I’m glad I got to be there at the beginning.
