Mid-Week Wedding Distraction :: Link Love

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Five of the most amazing wedding related posts from the last couple of weeks. Get ready to be inspired!!

1 :: Style Me Pretty

Austin Wedding Blog
Everything about this Real Wedding on Style Me Pretty is awe inspiring. The vintage California hotel, the bride’s dress (which was cheap and second-hand, btw), the flowers, the canopy…gorgeous.

2 :: Green Wedding Shoes

Austin Wedding Blog
A two day event, two amazing dresses, simple yet glamorous and SO unique…you MUST check out this wedding featured on Green Wedding Shoes.

3 :: Clink

You have to click through to see this one. Austin’s own Clink Events coordinated this amazing celebration featuring a Hindu ceremony, a Buddhist ceremony and a gorgeous Four Seasons reception. The details were ornate and breathtaking. You have to check out the bride’s costume changes!! Photography by Vanessa documented this gorgeous event.

4 :: Las Vegas Bride

Jennifer + Tedd \\ Coming Attraction from Terrence Lighten on Vimeo.

If you’ve read this blog at all, you’ll know I’m a sucker for Vegas weddings. When you think of a Vegas wedding, you picture the drive-thru chapel with the Elvis impersonator. Yeah…that’s not what I’m talking about. Today’s Vegas weddings are super glam and definitely take advantage of all Vegas has to offer. But, they’ve lost the tacky factor. Here’s a sneak peek of the nuptials between Jennifer Bartol, editor of Las Vegas Bride Magazine and CBS News Anchor Tedd Florendo.

5 :: Ruffled

Austin Wedding Blog
A gorgeous collection of inspiration photos using wooden crates as centerpieces. Ruffled always features such pretty things!

Happy Wednesday! Enjoy!

Weddings Unveiled at the Neill-Cochran House

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

The Neill-Cochran House Museum hosted a Weddings Unveiled event on April 28. The weather was absolutely perfect for brides to enjoy the beautiful courtyard and grounds at this historic event venue.

Over 75 attendees enjoyed mingling with vendors, sipping on champagne, trying tasty samples and winning raffle items.

Ben of Ben Godkin Photo took these photos of the event.

Vista West Ranch

Wednesday, April 7th, 2010

Last Friday, I visited Vista West Ranch. Oh my.

Tucked away on a winding Hill Country road, this wedding venue is absolutely perfect. When Cindy and Brian built the space 5 years ago, they thought of everything!

To start with, the ceremony site is gorgeous! A wood arbor covered in Native Texas vines provides the central focus. And, the best part, beautiful lanterns and candle holders hang from the arbor and the nearby trees.

The reception hall has a rustic elegance that is both warm and inviting. The lighting is gorgeous and incredibly unique; your guests will think the lighting was part of your decor! Rows of french doors open to the outside areas, making everything open and very accessible.

While the main areas alone are swoon-worthy, it’s the small spaces that really set this venue apart. A lofted area above the reception hall also has a private balcony where the bride and groom can escape for a quiet moment and view the festivities together. Above this area (and, you seriously don’t even know it’s there) is the changing areas–a groom’s room and a fantastic, shabby chic bridal room complete with a row of vintage mirrors for bridesmaid makeup application.

Outside is a fire pit and rows of little bistro tables where your guests can have a quieter moment to chat with each other and enjoy the beauty of the hill country. Hammocks and adirondack chairs are set out throughout the grounds. There’s also a fantastic biergarten for pre or post ceremony cocktails and mingling.

Hidden on the property is also a honeymoon cottage. Perfect for the bride and groom who want to extend their time at the venue as much as possible (and not have to spend too much time in a car at the end of the night).

As you can tell, I’m quite smitten with this place. The peaceful country vibe made me want to stay and hang out with Cindy for awhile. Maybe lounge in a hammock or sip some lemonade in one of the adirondack chairs….

If my description has you wondering when you can get yourself out to see this amazing venue, I have good news.

First, Vista West Ranch is hosting an open house this Sunday from 3 until 7.

And, we are happy to announce we will be having TWO Weddings Unveiled shows at Vista West Ranch. The first will be on August 22 and the next will be on April 17, 2011 (yes, we’re planning that far ahead!).

Mark your
calendars!

Weddings Unveiled at Texas Old Town

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

Texas Old Town hosted a Weddings Unveiled event on March 24. Despite rainy weather, over 75 attendees came out to meet wedding vendors at this beautiful wedding venue in the Texas Hill Country.

Luckily, the thunder storms didn’t roll in until after the show was over, allowing brides, grooms and their planning parties the opportunity to tour the Texas Old Town grounds and enjoy the rustic elegance of the huge oak trees, the bubbling creeks and the amazing landscaping.

Caroline of Sweet Caroline Photography took most of these photos (I’m sure you can tell which are hers and which represent my amateur photo skills).
