Want your wedding reception, engagement party or shower to be packed with as much fun as the streets of Spain this week after their World Cup win?!
Then look to the south, because Brazil’s national cocktail, the Caipirinha, will leave the flavor of fun in the mouths of all your wedding guests (age appropriate that is!) as well as help keep your beverage budget in check, so you can afford that amazing
honeymoon in Brazil to try the real thing!
A Caipirinha is a simple, sweet, and refreshing cocktail that is traditionally made with cachaça, a sugar cane based liquor that has recently gained popularity in the U.S. This drink can also be made with Vodka and other fruits.
You can create an entire Caipirinha bar, and try out vodka or other fruits. Why not even make the limes part of the decoration!?

You will need:
1/2 lime, sliced into 4 wedges
1 to 2 teaspoons sugar or simple syrup (see recipe below)
1 cup ice
2 ounces cachaça
Gently muddle the lime and sugar in a cocktail shaker. Add the ice and cachaça, shake, and pour the drink with ice into a large rocks glass
** Simple Syrup:
Bring one cup water and one cup sugar to a boil to allow the sugar to dissolve. Best to make ahead of time and refrigerate so that it is ready for your Caipirinha!
